Playground Mayhem At Central

To the chagrin of local children, construction crews began dismantling Central Elementary School’s playground this week. The crews put up construction fencing and felled several trees along Greenbay Road, making the playground-area highly visible to passersby.

During the coming school year, about half the playground area will be fenced off due to construction of the new school. GazeboNews is awaiting word from Principal Katie Williams on where the kids will play during recess. Keep linking in…

Afternoon Clouds

The warm and sunny day turned hot and cloudy at 2:30 p.m., when local pool and beach lifeguards called swimmers to dry land because of lightening and thunder. The day remained overcast, though rainfall was quick and light.

In the photo below, local children enjoy the tepid waters at Sunrise Beach moments before a lightening bolt split the sky. All still reported having a fun day at the beach.

Good Morning, Sunrise
