Students from Lake Forest High School visited Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago as part of the Open Doors Career Exploration Program that pairs high school students with job shadowing experiences.

Visiting students met with faculty members and learned about their research, toured the health sciences university, and spent time in various laboratories. The hands-on laboratory experiences gave students a glimpse of the types of investigations that are conducted, the importance of the scientific process, and some of the equipment that is most commonly used. Lake Forest students learned and practiced pipetting skills as pipettors are a critical tool to molecular biologists and adept use is critical.
