Submitted by VOTE Lake Bluff:
The VOTE (Volunteers Organized To Elect) Lake Bluff Steering Committee is seeking Village residents interested in running in the April 2013 election to serve on the Lake Bluff Village or Library Board.
This is a particularly important election cycle for Lake Bluff due to the number of positions that have to be filled on both Boards. The Library Board will have six of its seven trustee positions on the ballot in the April 2013 election due to four trustee terms expiring and the resignations of two trustees who moved from the community before the end of their term. The Village Board will have four positions on the ballot in the April 2013 election, including three trustee positions and the Village Board President.
The VOTE Steering Committee has scheduled meetings for November 14th & 15th (place and time yet to be announced) at which individuals interested in seeking the VOTE Committee’s endorsement for a Village or Library Board Trustee position will be introduced to the whole committee and participate in a question & answer session. At the conclusion of the meetings, the VOTE Committee will endorse a slate of candidates that will be presented for official endorsement at a Town Meeting, which is scheduled for December 6th (place and time yet to be announced).
The VOTE Steering Committee invites all Lake Bluff residents who are qualified to vote in the April 2013 election to attend both the Vote Committee meetings on November 14th & 15th and the Town Meeting on December 6th.
Please access/refer interested parties to the VOTE Lake Bluff Committee’s website (www.votelakebluff.org) for additional information regarding the positions on the ballot and the endorsement process or contact VOTE Committee Co-Chairmen Ed Duffy (847-482-0836) or Jim Gillen (847-234-6736).
