The Samaritan Counseling Center is presenting The Wellspring Men’s Breakfast featuring Dr. John Mansell. The event will take place at 7 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012, at The Church of the Holy Spirit, Lake Forest, IL.
Dr. Mansell has recently returned from tours of duty as a Flight Surgeon in Afghanistan and Iraq. He will share how this experience has changed his life as he has returned to his medical practice here in the United States.
In addition, Dr. Mansell will share his insight, from a physician’s perspective, as to how the brave men of the Armed Forces navigate the transition from military to civilian life. He will consider the role faith and faith integrated counseling may play, not only in the healing process, but also in the day-to-day life for those in combat, and in our society today.
It is difficult for many men to seek counseling, but at this time, men are facing a greater amount of pressure and stress than at any time in recent memory. The stresses of economic and family difficulties can be a heavy burden. The Wellspring Fund is a source of help specifically for men who are experiencing difficulty in their lives. For them, the support and guidance of a skilled, caring therapist can make all the difference, and the Wellspring Fund helps to make that possible by subsidizing the cost of counseling for men at the Samaritan Counseling Center.
The Samaritan Counseling Center’s mission is to offer hope and healing through education and counseling. We believe faith integrated counseling can be a foundation for mental health, personal growth and resolving problems. For additional information visit www.northshoresamaritan.org
Tickets are $20, which includes a full breakfast orchestrated by Stephanie Cook of The Creative Planners, Lake Forest.
