It’s the little things in life, right? We recently noticed that the old knuckle-grinding, quarter-sucking ticket machine at the Lake Bluff train station has been replaced by a shiny, sturdy modern kiosk that—wait for it—accepts all coins (not just quarters), dollar bills and credit cards! Also of note: the rate, which increased from $2 to $3.
Despite the price increase, the machine, which cost $16,220 and was installed back on May 1, has received “nothing but compliments,” according to Village Administrator Drew Irvin.
