GazeboNews received the following announcement from the City of Lake Forest on Wednesday afternoon. Residents and commuters will want to take note, as traffic will be re-routed at the busy intersection starting Oct. 31.
Everett & Waukegan Roads Railroad Crossing Scheduled for Repair
As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, The City of Lake Forest was notified by Metra officials that the railroad crossing at Everett and Waukegan Road will be closed for repair effective Wed., Oct. 31. Traffic will be routed to Rte. 22 as a main artery, and to Old Mill Road to the south and Conway Road to the north as local alternates. Signage will be installed by Metra in advance of the closing.
Metra determined that the crossing required a complete rail replacement and anticipates that the repair will take approximately one week.
